What is the EU AI Act?
Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 — the first comprehensive AI law. It classifies AI systems by risk (prohibited, high, limited, minimal) and attaches obligations to each tier, with penalties up to €35M or 7% of global turnover.
When do the deadlines apply?
Prohibitions and AI literacy duties have applied since 2 February 2025; general-purpose AI model duties since 2 August 2025. High-risk system obligations and transparency duties apply from 2 August 2026, and Annex I product-safety systems from 2 August 2027.
What counts as high-risk?
Annex III lists the use cases: hiring and HR, credit scoring and essential services, education, biometrics, critical infrastructure, law enforcement, migration and justice. If your AI operates in one of these areas, it is likely high-risk.
Is this legal advice?
No. The checker is an informational, rule-based self-assessment and the Doc Pack contains documentation templates — not legal advice, not a certification. For binding assessments, consult qualified counsel.
What is in the Doc Pack?
